Just before bedtime last , Honey and I spent some quality time just sitting in the cockpit, looking at the Daytona city lights. It's a pretty town, after dark, and the way the water smears the reflected lights is downright artistic! A half-hour or so of cool breeze and quiet reflection was enough, though, and so around 9:00 PM we headed for bed.
The first order of business this AM was another trip to the beach. Kibby can't take too much sun or heat right now, so morning is the best time to do it. She spent about 30 minutes playing in the surf and the tidal pools, and maybe another ten or so in the nearby playground. After that, we drove all over Daytona Beach looking for the bridges we are going to have to pass under, on our transit North, later this month. There are at least four, just in the Daytona/Ormond Beach area, and two of them are drawbridges.
Back at the boat, lunch was leftovers, but good. It was hot, so around 2:30-3:00 PM, I took the girls out for ice cream at Denny's. Kibby, however, decided she would rather have some of the special chocolate cake - it was encrusted with chocolate chips!
Things went pretty well downhill from there. Denny's internet connection was down, and they showed little interest in getting it going again, so we quickly finished our desserts and left. It was still hot, and we had some grocery shopping to do.
Shopping at Walmart is just as bad here as it is in North Georgia. People drive crazily, whether with cars or shopping carts. Kibby was disappointed that I didn't buy everything in sight. I was tired and getting a headache. Honey is suffering from the heat and the stress too. We got our shopping done, though, and finally got back to the boat.
