We just got back from a short trip down to see Event Horizon.
Charlie told us Thursday that she was back in the water, but not in the correct slip. It turns out, they left her in the slip next door, which, coincidentally, belonged to another boat that he was working on. That boat, too, was in the water by the time we got down there, and obviously not in its correct slip! With help from the other owner and another set of dock-mates, we were able to play musical slips, and get everyone back where they belonged.
While I was there, I took a look at the damage from the collision that Charlie reported, and it appears that a visible nick was chipped out of the gelcoat. In fact, on one end of the scratch, the gelcoat was breached. Their paint guy thinks he can make the repairs at the dock, however, so hopefully, it won't be long in coming.
The heat was intolerable. We stayed two nights, and for the entire period, my Honey had a pounding headache. My clothes stayed saturated with sweat, making it impossible to sleep for more than short naps. Today, we gave up and returned home.
Other obligations will prevent us returning to the boat for awhile, but hopefully by then it'll be cooler.
Mariner.
