Voyages of the SV Event Horizon: September 2010

Background

My Honey and I have planned for years to cruise the East coast of the US under sail, in our retirement. We spent about six months shopping for "the boat" that will take us away to the many anchorages, towns, sights, and sounds available for the viewing, and in May of 2009, we found her.

This blog was conceived as a way to document the process of finding and commissioning a suitable sailboat, and will continue as a way to tell the tale of our travels and travails, current and future.

Our current and target cruising grounds will be the East coast of the United States - probably mostly the Southeast - but after we've done that for a while, perhaps we'll get brave enough to cross some real water, and visit the Bahamas, and the islands of the Caribbean. You never can tell...
